About the NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be introduced to provide long term, high quality support to people who have a permanent disability that significantly affects their communication, mobility, self-care or self-management. The NDIS will focus on intensive early intervention, particularly for people where there is sound evidence that it will substantially improve functioning, delay or lesson decline in such functioning. The NDIS will also look to include a comprehensive information referral service, to help people with a disability who need to access mainstream disability and community supports.
As Australia moves into funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), this resource hub has been designed an easy-to-access guide for existing and prospective ECIA state chapter members.
The content was designed in conjunction with industry leaders in Business Transition, Financial Management and Cultural Change. Contributions have come from ECIA members across Australia.
As an ECI practitioner or manager, you will find key insights into the challenges you will face in the coming months. You'll find stories and examples that help you overcome these challenges whilst making the most out of the opportunities that will come out of the NDIS.
