Inclusion Support Programme - The Inclusion Support Programme assists early childhood and child care (ECCC) services to include children with additional needs by providing tailored inclusion advice and support from contracted inclusion agencies, as well as funding to support more challenging inclusion barriers.

Preschool Disability Support Program - This program supports children with disability or additional needs in NSW community preschools.

Kids Matter - KidsMatter is an Australian mental health and well-being initiative set in primary schools and early childhood education and care services (like preschools, kindergartens and day care centres). It’s a framework that helps these places take care of children's mental health needs by:

  • creating positive school and early childhood communities
  • teaching children skills for good social and emotional development
  • working together with families
  • recognising and getting help for children with mental health problems.

Code of Ethics for ECI Practitioners - The code was developed at a national level by ECIA and based on the code of Ethics developed by Early Childhood Australia (ECA). The ECA Code of Ethics was reviewed and released in February 2016. Click here to view.

Standards for ECI - The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development developed Standards for Victorian ECI. Click here to view a Fact Sheet on the Standards and click here to view the draft Quality Standards Framework.

Recommended Practices (US Division of Early Childhood) - The DEC Recommended Practices were developed to provide guidance to practitioners and families about the most effective ways to improve the learning outcomes and promote the development of young children, birth through five years of age, who have or are at-risk for developmental delays or disabilities.

The purpose of the Recommended Practices is to help bridge the gap between research and practice by highlighting those practices that have been shown to result in better outcomes for young children with disabilities, their families, and the personnel who serve them. The DEC Recommended Practices support children’s access and participation in inclusive settings and natural environments and address cultural, linguistic, and ability diversity. They also identify key leadership responsibilities associated with the implementation of these practices. Click here to view the Recommended Practices.
