Member Transition to National FAQs

In line with ECIA's restructure from a state / territory based organisation to a national company limited by guarantee, ECIA is offering members of ECIA's Chapters* - NSW / ACT, WA / NT, SA and QLD - the opportunity to transfer their current membership to ECIA national.

All members will be receiving an invitation to transfer their membership. When the invitation is received, simply click where indicated in the email and complete the form - it's that easy!! ECIA will then send a confirmation of the transfer.

Following are some questions that Members may have, and the answers. If you would like to discuss your transfer of membership feel free to contact your chapter, or the ECIA National Membership Manager - membership@ecia.org.au.

Q. DO I HAVE TO PAY ANY MONEY TO TRANSFER MY MEMBERSHIP?

No - your current Chapter* membership, which you paid at the last renewal, will transfer. You won't pay again until your next renewal date.

Q. WHEN WILL MY ECIA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL DATE BE?

Your membership renewal date with ECIA will be the same as it was for your Chapter* membership.

Q. WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT TO TRANSFER MY MEMBERSHIP?

ECIA Chapters* are winding up as part of the organisations commitment to becoming a national entity. Once the wind up of each Chapter* is complete this membership option will no longer be available.

Q. WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO TRANSFERRING MY MEMBERSHIP?

The benefits of membership with ECIA will be no less than you have with your current Chapter membership, and in most states / territories there will be increased benefits on offer. Please refer to the Benefits page for further details.

Q. I AM A STUDENT / FAMILY - IS THERE A LEVEL OF MEMBERSHIP FOR ME?

Our Informed Professional Membership level would be a good option for students and families. It provides access to all information digitally and at $44 per year is value for money.

*Chapter - the transfer of membership offer does not apply to members of ECIA in Victoria or Tasmania. ECIA VIC/TAS withdrew their membership to the national ECIA organisation in August 2017, and as such will not be winding up.

Current members of ECIA VIC/TAS are welcome to additionally join ECIA - simply complete the online membership application form at your preferred level of membership.
