An exciting opportunity awaits a Speech Pathologist, ideally with Paediatric experience to join our team in both Newcastle and Gosford.


As a Paediatric Speech Pathologist at Vision Australia you will:

  • provide appropriate and effective speech pathology services for clients and their families who receive a service from Vision Australia.
  • work within a transdisciplinary team of Orthoptists, Occupational Therapists, Access Technology Specialists, and Orientation and Mobility Specialists
  • provide Speech Pathology intervention in different settings including clients home, school or Vision Australia location.
  • write appropriate and effective goals for individuals and groups based on person centred practice.

As required:

  • act as the Primary Service Provider to coordinate the provision of services internally to clients and families and to liaise with external service providers to achieve desired outcomes for clients.
  • identify, develop and review information and resources
  • promote and represent Vision Australia regarding speech pathology issues in relevant forums
  • develop and maintain internal and external networks
  • provide professional development as appropriate to relevant parties.
  • monitor and maintain accurate, up to date client records in accordance with professional standards, Vision Australia policy and procedures and other relevant legislation including Disability Act.
  • continuous professional development including keeping up to date with new research and maintaining skills and knowledge level.

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate qualification in Speech Pathology
  • Experience in providing speech therapy for paediatric clients with a variety of complex needs
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Proficient use of technology e.g. computer systems, mobile technology


  • Experience in the areas of early intervention and/or school age intervention
  • Experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication modes and Paediatric feeding
  • Experience working within the NDIS framework and billable targets
  • Experience in providing and developing group programs
  • Professional registration with Speech Pathology Australia
