Hiring - Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist

Treehouse (Queanbeyan Children’s Special Needs Group) is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation that supports children with special needs and their families in Queanbeyan, NSW, and surrounds. Our team is growing and we now have an opportunity for another Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist to join our team. 

The role

  • A part-time or full-time Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to children and their families in a variety of community settings, including assessments and reports
  • Consult and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order for clients to achieve their goals
  • Facilitate liaison and support between families/carers and relevant professionals in community and education settings
  • Assist in preparing children for their next educational environment and provide support to other key stakeholders
  • Work within a transdisciplinary team
  • Start date ASAP

Essential criteria:

  • (SP) Relevant tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • (OT) Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA
  • Understand family-centred practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proven capacity to overcome obstacles, persevere and provide alternatives
  • A current NSW Working With Children’s Check
  • Current driver’s licence and first aid certificate

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience working with children who have disability and developmental delays and their families;
  • A working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS); 
  • Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
