As of July 2018, many early childhood intervention services (ECIs) will transition to become registered providers under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).  It is critical that NSW ECIs have a sustainable service model to position themselves within the changing market landscape.

ECIA NSW/ACT is holding a practical, one day workshop on Monday 21st May 2018, to support the work ECIs are
doing in this area and to discuss your issues and concerns.

The workshop will be led by David Hubbard of CINCH Financial Services, who is currently working with a number of ECIs across NSW. Linda Rolland, Program Manager at FirstChance will also be on hand to provide information from an operational perspective.  Topics to be covered include:

  • Key drivers for a sustainable ECI model
  • Calculating & measuring staff capacity
  • Operational Issues in managing workforce and service delivery
  • Hands-on experience with high level financial modelling – what does your service look like without block funding?

At the end of the session attendees will:

  • Know the key drivers of good decision making under an NDIS funding model – including monitoring staff capacity compared to demand
  • Possess key strategies for time management to improve efficiency and communication with frontline staff
  • Understand how to build a sustainable service model under the NDIS
  • Have free access to the Magnifi tool for 30 days to continue using the modelling functions after the workshop.
