Australian Capital Territory Organisations ACT Down Syndrome Association Inc Offers support and information to families with a member who has Down syndrome and promotes improvements in the quality of life of persons with Down syndrome with aims to stimulate, within the wider community, an awareness of their very real abilities and needs. Strives to achieve the best educational outcomes for children while seeking to better understand the causes of their autism in a mutually supported group. The role and responsibility is to plan, develop strategic policy, allocate funding and provide and monitor services for people with disability and the families that care for them. Disability Information and Referral Centre Aims to bridge the information gap between people with disabilities and organisations which offer appropriate services for them by offering access to the information they need to make informed choices. Early Childhood Intervention Info line provides free telephone information and advice on early intervention services within New South Wales for young children with developmental delays or disabilities. Queensland Organisations Autism Early Intervention Outcomes Uni (AEIOU) Dedicated solely to an intensive early intervention program for children with autism aged 18mths - 6yrs. Also encourages children to enter mainstream education (kindergarten and preschool) while attending the program. Provides direct services and support to people with autism spectrum disorder, their families and staff working with them, as well as general information about ASD. Challenges ideas and practices which limit the lives of people with disabilities and inspire and encourage individuals and organisations to pursue better lives for the disabled. Provides information on counselling, family support, disability services, parenting and residential care for the state of Victoria. Autism Society of British Columbia A parent based and directed society providing support to individuals with autism and their families. BDF Newlife is the UK's leading child health and research charity. Disability, diseases, disorders and malformations affect thousands of families throughout the UK. Funds pioneering medical research and provides special nurse services and grants to affected children and families. British Columbia Family Hearing Resource Centre Offering comprehensive services to families with young deaf and hard of hearing children and provides consultation and training to professionals in this field.
